Non-working days for July 13 – Statehood Day

Based on the Law on State and Other Holidays, July 13 – Statehood Day is celebrated on July 13 and 14.

Since the first day of the holiday this year falls on a Sunday, the non-working days are:

• Sunday, July 13
• Monday, July 14
• Tuesday, July 15

EMPLOYERS’ OBLIGATIONS DURING THE HOLIDAYS

1. Employers are required to notify the Labor Inspection in advance about the organization of work during the holidays. For this purpose, the form attached should be sent to the email address: milodarka.kuveljic@mrzs.gov.me.
2. Employers must also timely inform employees about the work schedule for the holiday days by posting it on the notice board.
3. Employees who work during the state holidays are entitled to an increase of at least 150% of the base hourly wage.

WORK PROHIBITION FOR RETAIL STORES

Retail stores are not allowed to operate during state holidays.

WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO WORK DURING THE HOLIDAYS?

Certain activities may operate during the holidays, with the obligation to send an official letter to the Labor Inspection Authority. These include:

• Pharmacies
• Specialized stores or kiosks selling bread, bakery products and cakes, flowers, souvenirs, newspapers, plant protection products, funeral supplies
• Gas stations and retail stores within gas stations
• Markets
• Stands, stalls, display cases, and vending machines outside markets
• Stores, kiosks, and vending machines located inside closed areas of bus and train stations, airports, and ports
• Stands and kiosks selling goods during events, festivals, fairs, and during public screenings of cinematographic works
• Wholesale warehouses

Hospitality venues may organize work during the state holidays.

WORK OF INSTITUTIONS OF PUBLIC INTEREST

State authorities, local government bodies, public institutions, public enterprises, and other entities performing activities of public interest are obliged to ensure the performance of tasks during holidays that, if interrupted, could cause harmful consequences to citizens or the state.
