Non-working days for July 13 – Statehood Day

Based on the Law on National and Other Holidays, July 13 – Statehood Day is celebrated over two days: July 13 and July 14.
Since the first day of the holiday this year falls on a Sunday, the non-working days will be:

• Sunday, July 13
• Monday, July 14
• Tuesday, July 15

EMPLOYERS’ OBLIGATIONS DURING THE HOLIDAY

• Employers are required to notify the Labor Inspection in advance about the organization of work during the holiday.
  For this purpose, a form (attached) is used, which should be sent to the email: milodarka.kuveljic@mrzs.gov.me.
• Employees must be timely informed about the work schedule via the notice board.
• Employees working during national holidays are entitled to an increase of at least 150% of the basic hourly wage.

BAN ON WORK FOR RETAIL FACILITIES

During national holidays, retail establishments are not allowed to operate.

WHO IS ALLOWED TO WORK DURING THE HOLIDAY?

Certain activities are allowed to operate during the holiday, provided that an official notice is sent to the Administration for Inspection Affairs. These include:

• pharmacies,
• specialized stores and kiosks (bakery products, bread, pastries, flowers, souvenirs, press, plant protection products, funeral equipment),
• gas stations and shops within gas stations,
• marketplaces,
• stands, stalls, showcases, and vending machines outside marketplaces,
• shops, kiosks, and vending machines at bus and train stations, airports, and ports,
• stands and kiosks during fairs, events, festivals, and public gatherings,
• wholesale warehouses.

Hospitality establishments may also operate during national holidays.

OPERATION OF INSTITUTIONS OF PUBLIC INTEREST

State authorities, local governments, public institutions, public enterprises, and other entities engaged in activities of public interest are required to ensure uninterrupted performance of duties during the holiday, if suspension could cause harmful consequences for citizens or the state.
